# Category:Reliability Analysis

In reliability analysis, the probability that a component or system will perform its prescribed duty without failure for a given time is investigated. This analysis type involves to perform simulations of the mathematical model and the estimation of the quantity of interest such as the Failure Probability.

The reliability analysis can be performed on the Probabilistic Model or on the System Probabilistic Model (see Prerequisites). Different simulation methods are available in COSSAN-X as shown in Analysis.

The results of the Reliability analysis are collected and store in:

- a Failure Probability object
- a Design Point
